what is more important in a career, passion or stability?
I interned at NASA during the summer of '13, and whenever my experiments were running, I would take the opportunity to reflect about various struggles and fears I was going through at the time. What ended up making it into this book included:
- a reflection about my relationship with my mom
- career aspirations (passion vs. stability)
- coworker's conversations
- a gmail chat
- and a late-night documentation of vandalism
Even 2.5 years after I wrote, this is still probably the piece that I'm most proud of. I appreciate that it's an honest (if not slightly angsty) record of my thoughts, priorities, and emotional state after my first year of college, and I can even see how I first got inspired to write an organic chemistry textbook.
